Gone With the Wind?

Hurricane season, which started this June, goes hand in hand with wind damage. Even if you reside in a location where hurricanes are not expected, localized storms can lead to extensive damage, costing billions of dollars each year in the U.S. To help decrease the amount of damage wind can inflict, there are certain things that homeowners in Northeast DFW can do:

  •          Check around the yard for items that can come loose in high winds and ensure that they are secured or stored away. This includes toys, portable grills, tools, trash cans, and patio furniture.
  •          Ensure that gates are closed securely and replace any loose fence boards.
  •          Remove all unhealthy branches or ones that are overhanging the roof.
  •          Repair all loose shutters, shingles, and siding.
  •          Inspect the condition of your garage door.
