- Check around the yard for items that can come loose in high winds and ensure that they are secured or stored away. This includes toys, portable grills, tools, trash cans, and patio furniture.
- Ensure that gates are closed securely and replace any loose fence boards.
- Remove all unhealthy branches or ones that are overhanging the roof.
- Repair all loose shutters, shingles, and siding.
- Inspect the condition of your garage door.
